I have created Hikealong as a means to open the Great Outdoors to a wide range of people. There are many sources and guidebooks, but none focus on the breadth of hikes available through Hikealong. Our descriptions and maps are very detailed, leaving little to the imagination except to enjoy the experience. Hikealong's detailed maps and guide services focus on maximizing your trip with accurate information and experience. I can tailor your hike (hikes) to meet the demands of time and skill year round in WNC with tips, detailed information and local specifics.
I have more than thirty years of experience in hiking, whitewater and biking. Appreciation of the outdoors is a passion and I hope to introduce you to some of the wonderful hikes and getaways available in WNC. Considered an expert hiker, I have developed programs utilizing mapping, GPS and altimeter technologies to create and design hikes with great detail. I have several hundred hikes available and can create custom hikes to meet any geographic or time constraint.
I personally have hiked many thousands of miles in WNC, and have extensive experience in SC, TN, VA, WVA, MD, CO, AZ, NV,CA, OR & WA. I have done many of the nation's highest peaks including Mt Ranier, Mt Hood & Humphreys Peak AZ, as well as all of the tallest mountains in NC.
