- High Society Big Band recreates the swinging jazz sounds of the big band era, performing compositions that span an entire century of music, including standards made famous by Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Stan Kenton, Harry James and Tommy & Jimmy Dorsey. In the tradition of these great orchestras, High Society Big Band is a 16-piece big band consisting of five saxophones, three trombones, four trumpets, bass, keyboard, drums, and male and female vocalists. In addition, our vocal group, the High Tones, performs group vocals reminiscent of the Andrews Sisters and the Modern Aires.
