All the photos included in this site were taken by me, Johnny Autery of Dixons Mills, Alabama. I began serious photography in the 1970's with a special interest in lightning imaging starting in 1978. Lightning has always been fascinating and awe inspiring, so from the beginning my goal was to shoot a unique photo of lightning. However, I never expected to get the shot of a lifetime. That is what happened in the early morning hours of May 3rd of 1984.
