Description
A free site should not be confused with a gallery page. A gallery is a single page that has ten to twenty thumb nailed images that link to larger versions of the images. A gallery page normally will have two to three outgoing links to sponsors. You can have galleries on your free site, but one gallery by itself is not a site, it is a page. A free site, in it's basic form, consists of four pages - an index page containing a warning, a main page with links to the galleries, and two gallery pages with each having a minimum of ten thumb nailed images linking to larger versions of the images. Each of the four pages of the free site can have two to three outgoing links to sponsors. Unlike gallery pages, which have just one chance to lure a surfer into buying sponsor memberships, good free sites get regular visits from search engine traffic.
In the 2001, a few sponsors began providing free-hosted galleries. These are gallery pages designed by the sponsor, using their content and hosted on their server. Using his affiliate code, the affiliate simply lists the links to the FHG's and receives credit for the sales generated by the galleries. The sponsor provides the design, content and bandwidth. Quickly, TGP owners embraced the concept of free-hosted galleries and began listing them. Today, there are over 100,000 galleries available and almost every adult sponsor program provide them.
In 2003, with the launch of algcash.com, hosted free sites appeared. As the owner of a major link list, Link O'Rama, and as a partner in Anne Loves Greenguy, Greenguy recognized the benefits of HFS's for both link list owners and sponsors. For some reason, the production of HFS's has been modest. Today, about 40 sponsor programs offer hosted free sites with about 4,000 available for use.
