Description

Greensnet was first launched back in September 1999 as an unofficial alternative to the official Hendon site, which was not updated particularly regularly. By November, an overhall to the layout, which was initially very basic led to a more professional looking site which then took on the name Dons on the Net. The owners of the official site then told us that we could take over their site, as they hadn't got time for the upkeep, so Dons on the Net became official and moved from the geocities server to www.hendonfc.co.uk, which was then the address of the official site. However, problems came and went, causing us to move temporarially back to Geocities, and then onto a new server at www.hendonfc.net

The site, which had undergone a second overhall (see right) moved on 17th April 2000 and has since gone onto become one of the largest Ryman League sites, with well over 600 pages, is now receiving an average of around 350 individual visits a day, even during the close season. The site has gone from strength to strength, being (we believe) the first Ryman Premier site to offer free webmail, taking on the name Greensnet to reinforce the image of The Greens and becoming the first website in the division to allow supporters to submit their own questions to ask of manager Dave Anderson.

The site underwent a third overhall to the current design at around June 2001, to allow easier and quicker updating, and give the site a better look for the new season. Any more questions? Mail us.
