I was in an antique linen store when I came across a poem that just brought tears in my eyes. The thought of someone giving a gift so special that it continues to give throughout life's special occasions and on into the next generations for their special moments, just touched my heart.
I started looking for the perfect hankies to make my bonnets for family and friends. As I found them, I gave them as gifts and people were moved to tears. I had given my bonnets as gifts for years when, after making one for my niece, I decided to make extras and showed a few people what I had made for her. They all became so emotional, being touched as well, by the thought of something so precious. They began thinking of people they knew who were going to have babies and asked if I would make some bonnets for them as gifts. As word got around I was making more and more bonnets. I began receiving requests for my bonnets from other cities and states. I decided the best way to describe my bonnets was to take pictures and place them on a web site so people could see how they looked. Hence, ... HEIRLOOM BABY BONNETS.
I know when you give one of my bonnets it is a special gift. One that will be priceless and dearly cherished throughout generations. Keeping this in mind, I take the time to make sure each one is perfect, just as when I give the gift myself.
