Description

Excerpted from the website:

A few generations ago, our ancestors' goods were made and sold by someone nearby, someone in their village or town. Industrialization and it's grandchild mass-marketing changed that picture and today's goods are mass-produced in factories that sell through channels that sell to stores that market to you and me. Our money is distributed along this supply chain to who knows who. And this is the bottom line: We we don't always know who or what we are supporting when we buy today's mass-produced products. And because identical copies are owned by thousands of other people, these mass-marketed items are not likely to become family hierlooms. Most of what we buy today loses half its resale value on the drive home from the store. You can confirm this any weekend by visiting a few garage sales in your neighborhood.
