After over 25 years as a career property manager and asset manager, I've decided to bring my experience to the industry in a different fashion. While consulting, for lack of a better label, I can involve myself in all the many aspects of owning and operating multi-family housing. Not just focused on a specific portfolio in a limited market, but everything from routine report preparation through taking an underutilized asset and making it physically and economically special, across the country. The demands of all manner of clients in random markets is energizing! Moreover, it is really pleasant to mentor site staff from a place of genuine concern and support.
Over my career, I've been known as a fair, rational, and accountable leader or disciple. Yet a demanding leader with very high standards and a strong work ethic. I work well with virtually everyone, from ground custodians through the chairman of the board. I can make a sophisticated presentation to senior executives and make myself understood to maintenance staff equally well. Your staff and colleagues will find me not only capable, but also congenial and empathetic.
I grew up in the business renting apartments while in college, so my depth of commitment to the industry is clear. I have seen tough markets (many), some great ones, and everything in between. Working with skilled staff and professionals, I have converted some extremely underutilized assets into gems, managed condo conversions from rental through HOA control, been appointed Receiver on some grim real estate, and renovated high end giants. In multi-family housing, I believe I have seen it all.
