Hazelwood Tennis Club By Anna Cotter. Hazelwood Tennis was first thought of in 1965 by Fr. Browne. The grounds to be used for the lawn tennis were at the time in the wilderness. This patch of ground was part of the property of the local curate, and up to this time was used by some priests as a vegetable garden.Fr. Twohig, in particular had most of the present tennis court under potatoes and other vegetables. He got most of the tilling done by the O’Driscolls and their machinery. Tim.
