Description
Hawks Soccer Club, Inc. is an Illinois not-for-profit corporation created for the purpose of encouraging and supporting the expansion of soccer opportunities for girls and boys in the Hinsdale/Clarendon Hills/Oak Brook and surrounding areas. Starting with a single U-10 team in the fall of 1997, the Hawks have expanded to a total of 32 teams in the 2005-2006 season. As a result, there are currently over 500 players and their families involved with the Hawks Soccer Club. Past and current players on the Hawks teams have come from many western suburban communities, including Berwyn, Brookfield, Burr Ridge Clarendon Hills, Darien, Downers Grove, Elmhurst, Hinsdale, LaGrange, LaGrange Park, Lake in the Hills, North Riverside, Oak Brook, Riverside, Westchester, Western Springs, Westmont, Willowbrook and Woodridge.
The Hawks Soccer Club participates in the Illinois Women’s Soccer League (IWSL) and the Northern Illinois Soccer League. The Hawks compete in both the Fall and Spring seasons, each consisting of 10 league games. The Hawks also typically enter one tournament during each season. In addition, the Hawks participate in an indoor soccer program during the winter, consisting of either competitive games and/or weekly indoor practice/training sessions. Fall and Spring season games are generally played on Saturday and Sunday afternoons but may be rescheduled due to inclement weather or other conflicts. Two practice sessions per week lasting approximately 1-1⁄2 hours each are held beginning 2 to 3 weeks before the first game of either season and continuing throughout the season.
