- The Harrison Soil and Water Conservation District is an organized subdivision of the state of Ohio's government responsible for the conservation of soil and water resources within the county. The district was formed under and is subject to the Ohio Soil and Water Conservation District Law. The District was organized by local landowners 1945. The major role of the District is to determine the natural resource needs of our county and implement programs to solve these challenges. Most natural resource degradation problems are solved for the most part by landowners themselves, with technical and educational assistance supplied by the District and other conservation partners. A Board of 5 Supervisors who are local residents elected by landowners who live within the county governs the district.
