Late Shri Harilal Upadhyay ((January 22, 1916 - January 15, 1994) is considered as one of the Great Gujarati Authors found ever. He have contributed more than a 100 Books to the Gujarati and hence Indian Literature.
His work includes Historical Novels, Social Novels, Short Stories & Short Story collections, Biographies of well famed larger than the life characters, Children special book to turn them towards ethics, The famous Mahabharat series, Columns & serial stories in news papers, Poems & Poetries and much more...
As we all know Indian society is classified into four VARNAs. Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vaishya and Shudra. Most of the historical novels are based on the tales of Kshatriyas; but all the VARNA's people also are weaved very perfectly there.
The challenge faced when writing a historical novel is you have to stick to the real historical events in one hand and on the other you also have to make it readable and enjoyable. It requires great writing skills and of course a very deep & tough research of history.
Kshatriya can further classified into three streams
1. Suryavansh (Sooryavansh)
2. Chandravansh
3. Agnivansh
