Lake Michigan Charter Boat Fishing from Manistee for Salmon, Steelhead & Trout

Join us aboard our charter boat the Happy-Go-Lucky for an exciting day of Lake Michigan sportfishing. Depending on the time of year and water conditions we catch Chinook "King" Salmon, Coho Salmon, Steelhead, Brown Trout and Lake Trout. We start the season in May trolling the shoreline for Brown Trout . The last three state record browns have been caught in the waters off Manistee County. As the water warms and summer draws near, we move to deeper water catching mixed bags of King Salmon, Lake Trout and Steelhead. Depending on water conditions we we may move offshore (sometimes up to 20 miles) in pursuit of fast paced action catching sky-rocketing steelhead. Mid summer through Labor Day means King Salmon here in Manistee. Kings can weigh in excess of 30 pounds and battling with one will leave your arms aching and your heart pounding. We also catch Coho Salmon as they migrate north to their spawning grounds. There is still plenty of fishing left after the mature salmon have migrated into the rivers. Fall offers excellent opportunities for young salmon and steelhead.

Our 28 foot Baha has a wide open, fish friendly layout and is fully equipped with everything you will need for a safe enjoyable day on the water. She is powered by twin 302 engines and has a clean comfortable cabin with a private marine restroom.

I am a life long resident of Manistee and have been fishing since I was big enough to hold onto a fishing pole. I grew up on the Little Manistee River just a 1/2 mile from the DNR harvest weir. My family has always considered the opening of trout season second only to Christmas on our list of major holidays.
