Highland Lakes, MI – (HEADLINE) Area Widow Gets Home Makeover
This Thursday, April 22, 1-800-Hansons will be installing windows for a widowed Pontiac woman along with Rebuilding Together, a national non-profit organization which repairs the homes and yards of low-income homeowners who are elderly, disabled, military veterans, families with children and unable to do the work themselves.
“Thanks to our many generous financial contributors like 1-800-HANSONS we’re able to help a Pontiac widow with limited resources who suffers from both osteoarthritis of the spine and rheumatoid arthritis in her joints live in a more secure and comfortable environment,” said Dan Harmon, president of Rebuilding Together Oakland County. “We’re excited to help this wonderful woman by installing new windows in her home,“ said Brian Elias, president of 1-800-HANSONS. “This woman has done so much for others including serving in the Air Force as a “WAF” (Woman in the Air Force) in the early 1950s that we jumped at the chance to help when Rebuilding Together asked us to pitch-in again this year,” said Elias. Hansons has a strong history of participating with charitable organizations like Rebuilding Together and the American Cancer Society.
In addition to new Hansons windows, RTOC will repair broken duct work in the basement and install a new furnace humidifier,” said Dan Cassidy, a Rebuilding Together House Commander. “Those repairs and a new storm door certainly will help,” said Cassidy. The RTOC team will also address several safety issues by replacing the makeshift and missing hand rails on the staircases and changing out several original pull chain light fixtures with new energy efficient fixtures and bulbs. “The basement windows all need work. Replacing them with block glass will look great and increase safety in her home. Blinds and shades will also be added for additional security and beauty,” said Dan. Interior painting and outdoor upgrades are also planned.

The Hansons Windows team did a wonderful job on our siding and gutters. From our salesman, Larry, to the crew leader, Liz, to the crew themselves --- it was a great experience. The job was completed yesterday and we are already noticing a difference in the house. Before any work was done, our house had a 20 degree difference between the downstairs and upstairs. After the windows were put in by Hansons a couple years ago, the degree difference dropped to a 10 degree difference. Now that the siding has been installed, however, the temperature is the same! During this tough economic time, replacing my windows was not on my to-do list. Our Hansons Windows installers were a couple minutes early which was fine with us. It was very cold and snowy but they were careful not to make a mess in our house. Both the installers and our salesman were very courteous and professional. Additionally, our rep was not overly aggressive which is what we had anticipated. He actually assisted us with a 2007 problem we had with Hansons and resolved it to our satisfaction. He gave us clear expectations and worked with us. I had windows installed by Hansons about 17 years ago. My front picture window had developed a draft, but I had just thought it was one of those things you deal with and put plastic over it in the winter. When my neighbors were getting new Hansons windows I mentioned my front window problem to them. They told their sales representative who advised me to call and that they would do whatever it takes to get it right. And they did. A service tech came out and even though it was a window they no longer carried, was able to fix the problem to my satisfaction. In face, he came out twice – once to evaluate, and then to fix. It didn’t cost me a cent. I am still amazed – 17 years since my windows were installed and Hansons still treated me as though I were a brand new customer. You don’t find many companies like this.

Our roof and gutters were in need of a complete overhaul, and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the quality products we received from 1-800-hansons. It has been nearly 10 years and we have had zero issues. What I do remember was the great experience we had during the installation – Hansons made sure our landscaping was taken care or, and were very neat. And the fact that our roof and gutters still look just as new as the day we received them makes us more than satisfied with our experience. This review is to show my appreciation for all that Hansons Windows has done for us over the years. In 1997 we were in need of some work on our house and we chose Hansons because we felt that we were getting all of our needs met at an affordable price. We chose to have our roof, vinyl siding, windows, gutters, storm doors, all done by Hansons. Over the years we have had some material problems come up which Hansons acted on very fast and corrected the problems. Three of our ten insulated windows went bad on us and they were replaced without a problem. This past fall, I noticed that our shingles were starting to fall apart. I called 1-800-hansons and they got a roofing inspector out right away to determine the cause. After their investigation process Hansons determined that the shingles were defective and installed an entirely new roof under warranty. Hansons will get my future business and if I know anyone in need of homeimprovements Hansons will be highly recommended by our family. Hansons stands by their work 100% and are very honest.

I’m a Mr. Fix It kind of guy, so when it came to thinking about window replacement, I thought I had it covered. My wife insisted that we get a couple estimates to at least learn about the products out there, so we did. When we received ours from Hansons Windows, we were literally so impressed. I did a lot of research on home improvement companies in the area prior to even getting estimates, and everything regarding Hansons Windows was above par. The quality of their windows, especially in terms of energy efficiency, is superb. Although a lot of companies claim that their windows qualify for the energy tax credit, the numbers speak for themselves – check out Hansons windows’ U Value, Solar Heat Gain and R Factor… they trump the competition.
