Hands First Baby Sign
Hands First Baby Sign is the name we chose for our company due to the most basic fact that babies can communicate with their "hands first" before the articulators are developed enough for speech. We encourage parents and caregivers to use baby sign language for early communication needs and we also encourage parents to continue on with American Sign Language as a second language.
What we teach
At Hands First Baby Sign, we will provide you with sixty American Sign Language signs to get you started on effectively signing and communicating with your baby. Our overall goal is to bridge communication gap, and to eventually have your baby sign back to you. When you have completed one of our programs you will feel confident in your ability to sign with your baby.
Teaching Techniques
The techniques we have chosen will be conducted in an interactive and playful environment. We will pass on signing skills through songs, nursery rhymes, books and games. Each different topic will have its own set of tips on how to pass that specific information on to your baby and how to incorporate the signs in everyday use. You will also be able to read a chosen book, and sing and sign a chosen song by the end of the six week program.
