Designed to be an heirloom quality smoker's accessory, each pipe tamper is individually hand made out of a combination of exotic or domestic hardwood and acrylic. A hardwood dowel is fully encapsulated within the body of the tamper to add strength to the glued joints. A screw-in tamp made of either brass or aluminum incorporates a carbon fiber pick. Each tamper is sanded in stages up to 2500 grit, sealed with a wood turners' lacquer polish, then buffed with a combination of waxes. A metal "dot" is inlaid into the side of the tamper to further identify it as one of my handmade creations. I have been working with wood my entire life, and these are made to my highest standards.
