About Us
So, who makes all these clothes? My name is Carrie Barron and I am currently a stay-at-home mom with a toddler and a newborn.
handmadeclothes.com has been an online business since 1997 (also known as Namaste Handmade Clothing). Originally started while I was in my senior year of college, business grew and grew until I was finally making clothing by hand as my full time job. Then came a move, a marriage, a baby, a new house - needless to say, we've been quite busy and handmadeclothes.com was down for over 2 years.
But, now we're back! All of the clothing is handmade in my studio in my Vermont farmhouse located in Burlington. I use a Singer Ultralock and a White sewing machine. That means that each item is double stitched and over-edged for durability and comfort. Also, all fabrics are prewashed for softness and to prevent shrinkage and color bleeding.
