Dr. Bidlack was a career officer in the United States Air Force, leaving active duty with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the summer of 2006. His postings included service as Deputy Director of the United States Air Force Institute for National Security Studies, as a military advisor to an Ambassador at the Department of State in Washington, DC. (working security issues in Europe and Asia), as an ICBM launch officer/instructor, and for many years he was an Associate Professor of Political Science at the Air Force Academy. He served over 25 years in the Air Force, and now devotes himself full time to performing and writing.
He holds all his academic degrees from the University of Michigan, including a doctorate in Political Science. His dissertation, in environmental policy making, focused on the role of the military in environmental operations.
