About this Study

We are very pleased to present this study of more than 10,000 products on this web. These products plus many articles are available in two books: A Handbook of Halal and Haram Products, Vol. 1 and Vol. 2. By the way, both books are the best sellers in North America. These items are commonly used in the US and Canada. We are honored and blessed by Allah Ta’ala to undertake this study in 1993 and since then we are revising and re-checking our data every second year with the food manufacturers and companies.

We had a very good response from the manufacturers. If we were not sure about any product due to the doubtful or lack of satisfactory information, we have not included those items in this book. Before going to press, we have reviewed the whole book thoroughly. According to our knowledge, information and understanding, all the data and findings in this book is correct. Although we have done this diligently, methods of food technology and ingredients are prone to change. Therefore, one must read the labels and especially look for the Haram ingredients. If you have any doubt, please call the company and inquire. We will update and publish a revised handbook every second year, Insha Allah.
