Mindful of the charm that attracted so many to make Hailey their home, community leaders have worked hard to strike a balance between growth and sprawl, quality and quantity. Because of this desire to make Hailey a town that people will continue to want to live, work and play in, Hailey maintains a wide mix of housing opportunities, creative business and industrial zoning, and a strong commitment to retain the health and vibrancy of the historical city core.
As the population center of the Wood River Valley, it falls to Hailey to meet the needs of the greater community, yet maintain the intimacy of a small town. In the recent past we have become home to a tremendous new high school facility, a sixty acre service, office, and industrial park, and a state of the art skatepark! We are currently reviewing requests to develop a permanent ice hockey rink, a community recreation center, and several new commercial complexes. In order to strike the critical balance between growth and impact, city leaders have placed a premium on quality projects that enhance both the appearance and economic health of the community.
Hailey is a special community, located in a beautiful valley. The City Council and I are committed to working with business and civic leaders to maintain that healthy balance of business and growth opportunities, while maintaining that strong sense of community, - the charm that attracted us all to make Hailey our home.
