Fine art portraiture: Peggi Habets

Description

A 15-year veteran of graphic design, I recently decided to pursue the wonderful world of watercolor. In my art, I often explore a variety of subjects and media, but my primary focus and passion are watercolor figures and portraits. Capturing an individual's style or personality is always the challenge. Much of my work are commissioned family and pet portraits. When not painting commissioned portraits, I focus on a series of ongoing, noncommissioned paintings titled "Extra-Ordinary Encounters". These are portraits of individuals I've met in everyday situations from grocery shopping to traveling, people who have struck me with their uniqueness despite their seemingly ordinary existence. I exhibit these paintings regularly at galleries in and around the Pittsburgh area.
