Title

Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind

Description

The Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind Dogs is a registered charity. Our mission is to provide a residential mobility service for the blind - to the highest international standard and free of charge - to enable blind people achieve their full independence and potential.

We are the only organisation in the Republic of Ireland that provides guide dogs as mobility for the blind. Our services enable members of the blind community to integrate fully and independently into society with a resultant increase in confidence and self-esteem. We provide both residential training and the very necessary after-care service to our clients free of charge.

We rely, almost exclusively, on voluntary contributions for our income. Since our foundation in 1976 we have always drawn our primary strength from voluntary activity. It is the drive and innovation of voluntary members and the imaginative fund-raising activities that they have taken part in that embodies all that is good about our organisation.
