Good Samaritan Foundation, Inc. is a Kentucky grant making private foundation that is both independent and completely devoted to health related issues. Operating as an endowed health-related philanthropy, the Foundation initiates, participates in, and supports activities which focus on improving the health status of Kentuckians. Good Samaritan has no political, religious, institutional, or other affiliations.
The Foundation has proven to be successful and knowledgeable in the health care, health education, promotion and research fields in Kentucky. Through many innovative programs, the Foundation has demonstrated its ability to work with and through Kentucky colleges and universities, public health organizations and the Kentucky Department of Education.
Good Samaritan is governed by a diverse, representative, voluntary and independent Board of Trustees, which is bound by law and corporate policies to perform its charitable mission. The Trustees are subject to a strict disclosure and conflict of interests policy. Trustees also serve subject to fiduciary duties imposed by law on the trustees of non-profit organizations to protect and care for the assets of such organizations on behalf of the general public.
