Grand River Regional Cancer Centre – Welcome
Description
The Grand River Regional Cancer Centre (GRRCC) is an integrated program of Grand River Hospital in partnership with Cancer Care Ontario. It forms the hub of a coordinated cancer services network to serve Waterloo Region and its surrounding communities.
As a full service cancer centre, the GRRCC provides comprehensive, consistent and compassionate care to patients and their families. It is the main provider of systemic treatment as well as the sole provider of radiation treatment in the region. GRRCC is a leader in supportive care services to benefit both our patients and their families, providing a spectrum of services that include social work, nutrition counselling, spiritual care, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and education. Research support services and data collection are also accessible in coordination with other providers.
The centre presently serves primarily patients from Kitchener-Waterloo and Wellington regions, with some referrals from Perth and Brant counties. It is anticipated that by 2010, residents from Waterloo, Wellington, Grey, Bruce and some from Perth and Brant counties will have the opportunity to receive cancer care services close to home, at the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre.
