The concept for creating our library came about when our founder - Noel Elliot - was trying to trace his father’s side of the family, shortly after his father’s death. His mother’s ancestors were much better known among relatives, and propagated through many family reunions held over the years.
He began his research by writing churches, visiting archives and public libraries, and joining genealogical societies. These steps allowed him to discover the various types of records that had survived, and he was amazed to find that very little information was available to carry out a well-organized search for his ancestors. He designed a "Family Tree Kit" to address this challenge of helping beginners everywhere.
The Family Tree Kit was first published in a limited edition in 1977. Over 250,000 copies have been sold since then, in the USA and Canada, until it was withdrawn from the marketplace in 1999. It was followed by a new book which was released in the Fall of 2005 and continues to reach researchers today in many countries. The title is "Finding Anyone Anywhere Anywhen" and is available at all major online bookstores in 9 countries.
