About The Author
Brian Huisman AKA GreyWyvern is a professional web developer with programming experience going back to 1996. His first website appeared in 1997, was on Geocities, and looked horrible. It was made for him by an online friend he had and Grey took it downhill from there: A repeating picture background on every page; red text on blue backgrounds; littered with animated gif's; etc. But everyone has to start somewhere, right? Still in his internet infantcy, he mainly used it to post some of his writing and QBasic programming exploits. Anyway, starting with a solid three years playing with QBasic, Grey dabbled in Java for a few months before moving entirely to HTML.
Since then, Grey's learned a lot. Mainly that the writing maxim: "Less is More" also applies to website design. This is especially true when it comes to separation of content and style into HTML and CSS. Along the way he also picked up a sound base in JavaScript.
In 2002 a good friend of Grey's introduced him to PHP. Starving for a return to the programming language environment Grey left with QBasic, he consumed PHP/MySQL and was building programs for hotscripts within a few months. Despite all this, he's still learning, for the wise man knows only one true thing: that they do not know everything.
