About GreenskyHill.com
In the 1830's Peter Greensky, a Chippewa, preached the gospel and converted his native brothers and sisters in the Leelanau area to Christianity. He served as a guide and interpreter for his fellow missionary, a non-native, Peter Doherty, and he also acquired a following of his own as a strong preacher with great influence among his people. These people traveled with him to the Charlevoix area where they began the mission.
