Introduction
Advanced Greenhouse Manufacturing Ltd. had been in business since 1986. When looking for the design for our Therma-Gro hobby greenhouses, we looked first to the commercial growers, and wondered if we could apply some of the same principles they used, in a hobby greenhouse. We began by looking for an alternative to the glass greenhouses. We designed and built the first Therma-Gro hobby greenhouse using 8mm double walled materials, which were first developed in Europe in 1953. These panels, used by commercial growers, saved 45 to 66 percent on heating costs, and registered a 30 percent increase in crop-yield (as compared to glass). We implemented full length roof venting, and imported solar-controlled, fully automatic vent openers, to help keep the greenhouses sufficiently cooled in the summer. The greenhouses were well received by the gardening public, and today Therma-Gro hobby greenhouses can be found throughout North America. We use high quality components and design, and we're proud of our quality and service. We currently have dealers in Canada and in the United States.
