- In 1996, Jimmy Wright, a 20-year leader in the marine industry, who had been both managing and selling boats for a hometown dealership in Virginia, decided to become an entrepreneur in the boat business. Jimmy and his wife, Beverly Gentry-Wright, found an ideal site situated beside Interstate 81 in Kingsport, Tennessee and began working to build what would eventually become one of the largest volume dealerships in the Tri Cities. Jimmy utilized his vast experience by consciously seeking to sell boats which were not only aesthetically attractive, but encompassed state of the art electronics, exclusive features, luxurious interiors, demonstrated high performance, and were constructed in manner which met the highest standards to ensure all his customers would purchase the very finest boat at a very discriminating price. Jimmy backed his products with the best warranty in the business and the rest was history. In 1997, Jimmy became a National Top Ten Dealer and a Customer Excellence Award winner with both Fisher Boats and Mercury Marine and continued the tradition of excellence unitl 2004 when Green Spring became a Godfrey marine dealer. Jimmy, Beverly and the entire staff of Green Spring Marine strive for excellence every single day. In 1998, a beautiful indoor showroom was constructed where customers were able to climb aboard and experience what affordable luxury was all about. The sales team was selected from a group of individuals who held the knowledge and skill to educate customers on various designs, features and performance, and to assist them in finding what truly suited their needs and their budget.
