The idea for the Green Khartoum: Plant A Tree was inspired by a visit to The Sudan in April 2009, when the reduction in greenery in Khartoum and especially its outskirts, became very visible despite the efforts made by various Local Non-Governmental and Governmental Organisations in planting trees and promoting green spaces.
