G.R.D. - Galway Rural Development
Description
Galway Rural Development Company Ltd. (GRD) was established in July 1994. It is a partnership of 28 directors, representing statutory agencies, social partners, business, farming, community and voluntary sectors. GRD administered the EU LEADER II Programme between 1995 and 2000 and the Local Development Programme between 1997 and 2000 in its operational area of rural Galway (excluding City and Gaeltacht).
It now administers the Social Inclusion Programme and the National Rural Development Programme (LEADER), a sub-measure within the Agriculture and Rural Development Priority sub-programme of the National Development Plan, both of which will last until 2006.
