More than thirty years ago the option of Christian education was not available in the Michiana area. In response to this need, what is now Granger Christian School was started in 1972 to fill this void. Grace (Baptist) Church and its members served as the sponsor of the school. Initially, the school, while open to the general public, primarily educated students from the church. In 1992, Grace Church relocated to Granger, with the school following a few years later.
