The staff of Gower Designs have over 30 years experience in the IT world. This experience includes business programming, web site design, graphic design, page layout, database development and administration, and training.
Bill has been an IT professional field since 1985. His background includes System Design, Training, Programming and Database Management. He is a Microsoft Certified Professional, a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and is currently working on his CompTIA Security+, Network +, A + and Server + certifications. Programming experience includes Java, C, C++, XML/XSLT, Visual Basic and developing Windows Forms and Web Applications using the .Net Framework and creating reports with Crystal Reports. His clients over the years have included farm implement manufacturers, unions, credit unions, medical laboratories, hospitals and grocery wholesalers. Database experience includes SQL programming, database administration and performance and tuning in MS SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase SQL Server and MS Access. He spent 5 years as a Microsoft Certified Trainer teaching Visual Basic, Visual C++, MS SQL Server Administration, SQL Programming and Performance and Tuning. As a Sybase Certified Trainer, he has taught Sybase Database Administration, SQL Programming and Performance and Tuning. He has also taught non-certified classes in Oracle SQL Programming, database administration and performance and Tuning. He has also taught classes in Java, C++, and Object-Oriented Analysis and Design using the Unified Modeling Language. He also has 20 years experience at the college level teaching classes in COBOL, C, C++, BASIC, Database Management, Introduction to Computers.
As a System Administrator Bill has extensive experience with Microsoft Operating Systems (NT, 2000, XP, 2003), TCP/IP, Networking and Internet Information Services. He is also capable of performing hardware maintenance having experience with troubleshooting and diagnosing hardware problems, replacing memory, hard drives and other problems.
