Welcome to my website! I'm the Gourd Guy and will be your host during this internet browsing experience. My real name is Toby, and I'm the editor and publisher of Gourder's Magazine. I have been involved with gourds in one form or another for the better part of 15 years. From lugging around 4" hand line in the 30 acre gourd patch on our West Texas farm, to my more recent attempts to create gourdworks of my own. My mom was the one who introduced the family to gourds in the very early 90's, and it has been a love/hate/love relationship ever since.
This summer (of 2005) will be an entirely new growing experience for me. We moved to Northern California in October of 2004, leaving behind the wind, blowing red sand, and desert heat for the milder climate of the Pacific Northwest. With this change in scenery, my gourd growing skills will also be put to the test.
