- This is the first time we meet the soon to be deceased Kevin Horton. I liked the idea of a young cast member and making him and intern was a natural choice. When writing Kevin I really didn't want to make him full of angst or super nerdy as is often what happens in web comics and television. Instead I decided to make him thorough polite and respectful and in near awe of every other member of the ship down to and including the Janitor! He's the only one with a barely containable excitement about being where he is. He's pretty naive but extremely competent (which can't be said for many of the other crew members).
