Description
Originally from Hamburg, Germany, Goettner immigrated to the United States and became a US citizen in 1956. Adrian, Michigan became his adopted hometown. Currently, he and his wife, Nancy, reside in Sylvania, Ohio.
Mike received a degree in art and design from Ferris State University in 1966 and was immediately inducted into the military upon graduation. His service years were with the First Air Cavalry Division in Vietnam.
“I have enjoyed a unique career as an industrial designer with Owens Illinois, Inc., the world’s leading container company.” He is the recipient of 50 design patents and was a member of the Industrial Designer’s Society of America. Simultaneously, Goettner pursued a parallel career as an illustrator. Consequently, his paintings take on a realistic, and highly detailed technique. “Automobiles and aircraft have been my passion for as long as I can remember and these subjects fit right into my style of art.”
