Back in the days of of 56k modems and when ISDN was considered 'formula 1' on the web GodsWeb was launched. (July 12th 2000).
For the previous 18 months to 2 years, we had been providing a personal web hosting solution to friends, local businesses and churches. It was clear that the world wide web was going to be somewhere where the church and fellow Christian business people were going to be 'required' to make a mark.
The web, back then, (as it sadly still is today) was full of misleading, unclear and unethical companies offering services with hidden charges and this led to a feeling of mistrust online. We were determined that this should not stop Christians from claiming a stake in the internet revolution and making their mark.
