We do not consider our firm to be a mainstream ‘estate agency’ and we prefer to be known as ‘Property Consultants’ as opposed to a typical high street Estate Agency. Technically, we are very advanced with a full network of Apple Macintosh computers, which provide us with fingertip access to extensive databases of information to assist us in our business. Godfrey and Barr are not just names above the door as we are actively involved in all aspects of the transactions that take place through our firm. It is comforting for many of our clients to know that they are not dealing with an unknown face or corporation and that we are always available to discuss their property requirements.
Our comfortable, refurbished office occupies a prominent position in the heart of Hampstead Garden Suburb, about one mile from the famous Winnington Road and The Bishops Avenue, which offer some of London’s prime and most exclusive properties, owned by Royalty, Statesmen and Stars from the world of TV and entertainment. We are located about 5 miles from Central London, close to Kenwood, Hampstead Heath and Highgate Village. This unique location allows us to apply our expertise not only to the local Hampstead Garden Suburb area, but also to the surrounding areas of Hampstead, Kenwood, Highgate, Hendon, Finchley, Golders Green and Mill Hill.
Whilst technology plays an extremely important part in the ethos of Godfrey & Barr, we realise that buying, selling and renting property is a people business. To this end, we have a highly trained team of negotiators who are well versed in all aspects of property negotiation. We realise that our profession is sometimes not viewed with the highest regard and we have always made an effort to rise above this stigma. We are members of three professional bodies, being the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA), the Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA) and the Ombudsman Scheme for Estate Agents (OEA) and adhere to their professional codes of conduct and bonding schemes. This also ensures that we are well versed in all aspects of legislation governing the sale and rental of properties in the UK and any changes that may be subsequently introduced.
