Gateway Military Historical Society

GMHS was originally founded by 6 individuals who were militaria collectors. They held meetings at each others houses until they incorporated under the laws of Missouri, applied and received tax exempt status (Federal not for profit organizations - section: 501-C3).

At that time the decision was made to sponsor 4 military collector shows each year. First show being in 1988 at historic Jefferson Barracks in St. Louis County, Missouri. Motor Pool Museum was founded in 1989 and continued from there.

To sponsor, provide for and to encourage educational, social, recreational, civic service and patriotic displays, activities and services by and for its members, authorized guests and other members of the public;
