- Choosing a career in the law was not an easy decision for Kate Kaminsky. She initially pursued a career in clinical psychology and received a masters degree in 1995. Her work with profoundly troubled and ill youth was rewarding, but often Kate found that it was children’s involvement in the legal system that had the most lasting impact on her clients. The law provided protections and rights to children who would otherwise have been lost, but talented lawyers were necessary to ensure the best outcomes. After coming to this realization, Kate decided to change direction and go to law school.
