Description
The Glenrothes Single Speyside Malt has been recognised by master blenders as being one of the finest Speyside malts since 1879. This well-kept secret was first bottled as The Glenrothes vintage malt in 1994. To date, a selection of expressions have been released in strictly limited quantities. The reason for its enduring popularity is simple: premium quality is at the heart of The Glenrothes. Clean, soft water is drawn from the distillery’s private spring and the spirit is distilled from copper pot stills which have remained unchanged in shape since 1879. Finally the maturation takes place at the distillery in a combination of American and Spanish oak casks; the best of both worlds. The Glenrothes is available for like-minded people to share in a variety of expressions including vintages and a non-vintage specific selection, The Glenrothes Select Reserve. Using only the finest casks, each resulting whisky is rare, finite and of exceptional quality representing just 2% of the total production. Expressions of The Glenrothes include: Vintage 1991 – berry fruits, vanilla, butterscotch; Vintage 1985 – rich, creamy and dried fruits and The Select Reserve – ripe fruits, citrus, vanilla and spices.
