Description

Excerpted from the website:

My Story:
(short version) When I met Sr. Muendi from Kenya in 2007, and learned of her situation back home: how dedicated the nuns were, even unto the point of death, and the great need of many they serve, I made the decision to get involved. Why? Because I felt a connection to her and her community; they are a living and growing cell in the divine body of our Universe working to make the world a better place. The Assumption Sisters of Nairobi travel the world, cross long distances within their own territory of Kenya and other parts of Africa, US and Jamaica to serve where there is need.

Additional Information

Mission: Giraffrican Mix was given to me as an inspiration to help the poor in Africa, working through the Assumption Sisters of Nairobi. The sisters see first hand how poverty cycles itself. To break this, they must enable women to reach beyond the norm. This University will inspire women to aspire to a higher purpose. The degree program of Nursing is already in place for Regina Pacis University and will teach those willing to serve those with no access to medical aid. The University will provide students a medical wing/hospital to practice with supervision on the many that need medical attention, including the elderly. Many of the nuns who will be on staff at the University have already studied abroad; they have become counselors, teachers, business and computer trained professionals.

  • 1. To help raise funds for the proposed Regina Pacis University so that many, who are already dedicated to serving the poor first hand, are educated to strengthen the communities of Kenya socially and economically.
  • 2. To connect to the poor and underprivileged through the eyes of the Nuns of Nairobi, and to provide where Giraffrican Mix can make a difference.
  • 3. To connect to our future decedents and offer hope to our children today for the world they will live in tomorrow.
