- The school was established in early 19’s as an only girls primary in the region as and under the title, “Govt. Girls Primary school Jambu”. Jambu is the historical name of the today’s Jammu. As the Jammu is known for its communal harmony and peace, this school was the centre of attraction for the girls students of the region. Students from far flung areas were used to come to study in the school. Girls students from Lahore, Karachi, Imnabad, Faislabad ( all in Pakistan now), Reasi, Dansal and many from other remote areas were used to come for study in this school. After independence, in 1949 this school upgraded to High School and in 1953 Hr. Secondary Elective. Since 1973, this school has been working as Govt. Girls Higher Secondary Mubarak Mandi, Jammu. The school is the centre of attraction for all girls students of the region. Every school going girl of Jammu wishes to join this school. The School’s building and location is very attractive and beautiful . Wonderful results, discipline and quality of education attracts thousands of students every year to get admitted in the school.
