Mayor Jerry Dean, Councillor Harold Edison and town manager Ed Evans met with the minister, along with Exploits MHA Clayton Forsey and Windsor-Springdale MHA Ray Hunter, in Grand Falls-Windsor to discuss several issues of concern for the community, including the gas tax rebate, Abitibi-Consolidated, Aur Resources and the federal port divestiture program.
The Special Olympics provincial bowling tournament will take place at Holiday Lanes Central on Saturday, June 24. The athletes will arrive in Grand Falls-Windsor on June 23 and depart on June 25. Exploits Valley High School will serve as the athletes' village for the duration of their stay in the community.
