GFC Economics is an independent organisation providing economic research to the investment management community on a subscription basis. We aim to provide timely analysis of economic issues which are likely to influence the financial markets. In this way, we seek to assist the institutional investor in formulating an informed investment strategy.
GFC Economics analyses economic developments with reference to their likely impact on the financial markets. We are not a news service. Rather than reporting economic events, we seek to determine what they mean for the direction of interest rates, exchange rates and financial markets. Our integrated approach means that regional analysis is not compartmentalised. This philosophy not only facilitates comparative analysis, but also takes on board the increasing interdependence of national economies and financial markets. As an independent entity, we are free to express our views without the intervention of any vested interests and are not afraid to disagree with the consensus view if we feel this to be wrong.
GFC Economics research is focused on Japan, the US, Euroland and the UK. However, coverage also extends outside these regions, particularly with reference to how developments in non-core countries will affect the economic and financial performance within the major trading blocs.
