6d is technology that allows a user to create a post, upload a photo or update one's status, and share all this with anyone who's also running 6d on their website. It's a an identity building application that allows each person to control their own information, and message their friends. 6d is the creation of Erik Bigelow and Joey Guerra, programmers living in Texas. People using 6d can communicate with each other, sharing photos, messages and other things they'd normally share on a commercial social network like Facebook, while retaining control over their data.
Anyone using 6d can also continue to share with friends who use Facebook and similar social networking sites.
