- Getnet has recently been contacted by a man claiming to represent an organization which protects its members from defamation. He insists that a webpage being hosted by one of Getnet's customers (not by Getnet itself) is defaming his clients and he will do whatever necessary to take the site down. We have reason to believe that this man is a professional spammer operating out of Europe and have refused to acquiesce to his demands to shut off our customers server which hosts this website. If you are contacted by this man, please ignore it. The reason that he must resort to annoyance tactics to achieve his aims is because he is powerless to do anything through normal legal channels. As always, we at Getnet place the needs of our customers first, and we refuse to deactivate a paying customer that has done nothing in violation of our Acceptable Use Policy or anything illegal merely to suit the wishes of an individual who dislikes the content of a website.
