I was reading a thread on Prelude-Tech which as members there know it can get patriotic at times, that Google just decided not to post a Memorial Day logo. I mean WTF? They can post one for Canada’s “Rememberance Day” but not for Memorial Day?

Almost every holiday we get treated to a great little creation by someone at the google plex showing off their great respect and admiration for said holiday. Yet today, 29 May 2006, the day that we as Americans celebrate our uniformed heroes Google decides ehh, we’ll pass.

So what’s the excuse Google? It’s not like Memorial day isn’t an official US government holiday. So what gives? Is big G trying to make a political statement? Anti-war perhaps? From the looks of it this has been their policy for quite a while.
