Gary Allen has over 20 years of total photography experience. He now lives in Wilmington, North Carolina, but enjoys travelling to work. For over 15 years, Gary Allen worked as a full-time newspaper photojournalist. You can view samples of his photojournalism work. His photos have appeared in Time, Newsweek, Sports Illustrated, Southern Living, and dozens of other leading magazines and newspapers such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Chicago Tribune. For 12 years Gary worked at the News & Observer in Raleigh, NC. Gary has photographed the 1996 Olympics, NCAA Final Fours, ACC basketball tournaments, Presidential visits, Kentucky Derbys and many other major news events over the last two decades. He has covered all types of assignments, from devastating hurricanes on the coast to swim lessons for babies. He's taken portraits of celebrities like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Michael Jordan and of people you see everyday in your hometown.
