Description
SunWind Travel is an enterprise created in 1999 by three members of an Ecuadorian-Swiss family: Rodrigo Jácome-Speck, Santiago Jácome-Speck and Rodrigo’s son, Daniel Jácome-Rosenfeld. With the enthusiasm that characterizes our family, one at a time, Juan Manuel, Anita, Marcelo, and Maria de Lourdes joined in this activity and now form part of SWT in Quito, Galapagos, Miami and Geneva. In 1957 our father Luis Jácome went to the Galapagos Islands and began the adventure, although in a totally different field, he started a cattle ranch with the feral cattle that was abundant on Isabela Island. This adventure ended with the creation of the Galapagos National Park in 1959, but ever since and thanks to the wonderful stories that our dad used to tell us by the fireside, a part of us and our dreams stayed on the islands forever.
Since we were born, we grew up on different Haciendas on the Andes and our life was always surrounded by nature, beautiful landscapes where we could roam at our own free will. Years later some of these places were turned into Wildlife Reserves or National Parks, like the Ilinizas, Cotacachi-Cayapas and Llanganates.
All this, next to the adventurous spirit we inherited from our dad, motivated in us the hunger to explore, see new different exiting places and discover some of the wonders, some still hidden, that our rich country has to offer.
